Celluvance™ PRP… also known as Vampire Facial

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is the cell free plasma containing a higher than normal concentration of human platelets per volume. Treatment with PRP has become an increasing clinical tool used for tissue argumentation and bone regeneration. This includes:

  • Facial rejuvenation therapy for wrinkles and solar damage skin
  • Surgery – free repair of sports injuries
  • Cutaneous wound healing

What are the benefits of a Celluvance™ PRP treatment:

  • Reduction of down time after invasive aesthetic procedures
  • Sun damage
  • Scarring
  • Burn wounds
  • Pigmentation
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Dehydrated skin
  • Radiance optimizing
  • Areas treatable: Face, neck décolletage area

What can I expect in the PRP treatment procedure:

Step 1: Blood collection

As your own (autologous) blood is used, it is first collected by venesection, the same procedure used in blood tests or blood donations. The site of the venesection is usually a large vein in your elbow. Up to 20ml of blood may be collected.

Step 2: Centrifuge

The blood will then be spun down in a centrifuge to separate the components. The process takes 20 minutes. The platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then harvested and there are a variety of different ways this can be done with a CelluVance™ kit. Anti aging therapies require between 2-8ml of PRP which will then be extracted from the centrifuged blood.

Step 3: Injection

Involves injecting the prepared solution into the different layers of the skin using different injecting technique namely:

Ø Superficial nappage - superficial injections to the epidermal layer = 1mm depth.

Ø Superficial intradermal- Multiple papules 2mm, made to the intrabasal layer.

Given that PRP Therapy can treat many indications, please discuss alternative options specific to your aesthetic needs. Some alternative treatments can include:

Risks / Side Effects

Please find below a list of common side effects and risks, for a more comprehensive list and explanation, please refer to the consent form and discuss this with your physician. Pain and burning: mild irritation may occur during the injection process but local anaesthetic is applied to skin to ensure the treatment is comfortable. Redness and swelling may occur but that will resolve in 2 days Bruising around the delicate areas (i.e. eye area) may occur but will resolve in 7 - 10 days.

Post Care Instructions

Patient can experience some redness, which should resolve within 24 hours. There is no down time and patients can continue with normal skin care regime after 48 hours. The remaining clear blood extract is used to sterilize the treated area and no post care cream is needed. This will immediately reduce swelling and redness. Bruising is common if delicate or sensitive areas are to be treated but this will resolve within 7 – 10 days. Scabs from wound healing should not be picked or removed, as it can result in pigmentation or scarring. If patient experiences any side effects other than above mentioned, they should contact Rejive immediately.
