What is the Alexandrite Laser?

FDA Approved, the 755nm Alexandrite Laser is scientifically proven to be the most effective Laser to remove dark hair on light skins (skin types I-IV). The laser also eliminates brown pigmentation, age spots, reduces fine lines and rejuvenates the skin.

Rejive Skin and Body Clinic prefers the Candela range of Alexandrite lasers: GentleLase. These lasers use Epidermal Cooling for maximum comfort and safety.

Alexandrite Laser for Hair Removal

The laser targets hair in the growing phase by honing in on the melanin in the hair follicle, following it down the hair shaft, where it destroys it. As long as the hair has pigment in it, the laser will destroy the hair follicle on impact – once destroyed this follicle will never grow back. Hair grows in cycles therefore each growth cycle will need to be treated with the laser in order to obtain permanent hair reduction. Laserderm recommends between 6-8 treatments.

Alexandrite Laser for Rejuvenation

The Alexandrite Laser deposits a large amount of heat into the skin which stimulates collagen production. This results in tissue tightening through coagulation which improves the overall texture and tone of the skin. Not only is this a wonderful skin rejuvenating treatment, it also minimises the ageing effect of pigmentation.

Alexandrite Laser for Pigmentation

The Alexandrite Laser wavelength reduces or eliminates the appearance of unwanted pigment in the skin by using light to target the pigmented area and break it up. On impact it treats the ageing effects of sun damage fading the pigmentation (sun spots, age spots and freckles) in the treated areas. While some areas respond with just one treatment, other areas may require multiple treatments over several visits. When multiple treatments are required, significant improvement should be noted with each visit.
